Welcome to Term 3 PDF Print E-mail
Hello and welcome To Term 3! Already we are in week 3 as we approach another very busy term. This term the primary focus for 6WH is to work together co-operatively and productively in GROUPS. While for some students this is relatively easy, others need guidance and encouragement to develop our sense of community as an extension of self. Wish us luck!!! Students should very much enjoy our major unit of work– SAVAGE EARTH! Within this unit students have the opportunity to explore the earth and beyond, looking particularly at natural disasters. Each student will be researching and presenting an information report on a natural disaster, while enthusiastic, self directed workers will be encouraged to complete extension activities in this topic area, including man- made disasters. As well as the process of information report writing, we will be investigating newspaper reports. Most of this work will be completed in class, though students will have opportunities to fine tune their work and complete extension research activities at home. We look forward to a happy term and the achievement of our goals. Regards, Robyn Washington and Stephanie Hollands

Welcome back 6WH parents and students! This term we change our focus from Science to SOSE with our unit  “World In Balance.” We will be researching world environments and issues of sustainability, looking particularly at the human impact. Students will be researching one Australian environment and presenting an investigative documentary to their classmates. They will also be learning to write persuasively about environmental issues.
Grade 6 and 7 are introducing a new behaviour management system this term which it is hoped will help students follow The Jindalee Way. Details will be advised in a letter home during the week.
6WH  particularly welcome our three new students, Chloe, Nick and Tyson who have already made a positive contribution to our classroom dynamics.
We look forward to a happy and productive term
Robyn Washington and Stephanie Hollands.
