The original school in the area opened in 1870 and was known as the Seventeen Mile Rocks Provisional School. As the Centenary Suburbs were opened up for residential development, a new school, Jindalee, was opened in Burrendah Road in 1966. The enrolment on the first day was 64. The school grew rapidly to reach a peak of 981 children in 1981. With little further development, enrolment figures declined. This subsequently stabilised at approximately 600 children. In recent years more land has become available in the local area for housing and enrolments have again begun to increase with a current effective enrolment of 800. |
