Dear Parents,

Well it is holiday time again! Time for the children to have a rest – they have worked hard again this term. Then they will come back for Term 4 and in 10 weeks their Prep experience will be over!!

PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS: Thank you all for attending our recent interviews. It was great to be able to discuss your child’s progress with you. I hope you enjoyed going through their Folios and appreciated all of the hard work that your children do when they attend prep. There will not be any more formal interviews but if you or I have any concerns we will be able to discuss them at a suitable time.

MELANIE RICE: Our fourth year Early Childhood proc. student will return after the holidays to complete her internship. Melanie will be ‘teaching’ for the first two weeks of term and will use the next two weeks to observe other teachers within the school. Melanie has finished her formal training and has chosen this internship to gain extra experience so that she will be well and truly ready to take her ‘own’ class in the near future. Please make Melanie feel welcome again!

FARM EXCURSION: Our annual excursion to Travena Glen Farm at Samford is on Monday, 26th October. This will be on next Term’s statement. Parents who wish to accompany us are welcome but will need to organise their own transport (car pool) and pay their entry fee at the farm.

MUSIC AVIVA - This will be on the first Tuesday back. Lots of people still have NOT paid for this. The cost is $6.00 and you will need to pay for this by Monday 5th October.
(I have highlighted this if you have not paid!)

I seem to be always chasing people up for payments – this is because the school has a policy of NO PAY – NO GO and I do not want your child to miss out – Please be vigilant in reading notices and paying for things by the due date. Thank you!

LIBRARY BOOKS: Lots of children are not bring their books back each Thursday. Please try to remember to return them each Thursday for borrowing so that the children get into a routine for next year.

Anyway, it is time for my morning coffee, so I will print this off now – have a great break and see you when we all return. Don’t forget that we start again on Monday 5th October – there is no Pupil Free Day until week three.

Dear Parents,
FETE – Helpers needed!!!
The school fete is on this Saturday 22nd August. Our class has been allocated the “Coffee Shop” to run for the day.
Kara James is the convenor of this stall and is urgently seeking volunteers to help ‘man’ the area throughout the day. PLEASE add you name to the roster that has been stuck to the notice board outside our room – an hour or two of your time will benefit the school and therefore your child in so many ways. Kara is also seeking donations of cakes/slices etc. (home made or bought). Please contact her on 3279 3880 or
0410 621 025.
(email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ). Please support our P & C and show that the prep parents are the BEST!!!!

FETE – PREP DANCING – all five prep classes will be performing at the Fete on Saturday. Our allocated time is 12.20 pm. Please ensure that your child is here by 12.10 at the latest – we will congregate at the bottom of our stairs in the new walkway – Hopefully the schedule will be running to time!!

MELANIE RICE is a fourth year Early Childhood Prac. student. Melanie is doing her final prac here at Jindalee in our classroom. Melanie will be here for the next four weeks and will gradually progress from observing and interacting with small groups of children to taking control of the whole class for 8 days in the final two weeks. Melanie will then return after the holidays for another month when she will complete her  ‘internship’. Please make Melanie feel welcome and I’m sure that you will all join me in wishing her the best of luck and hope that she has a great time with our ‘kids’.

HELP! Does anyone have an old fish tank (that is still waterproof) that they do not want. We broke ours when we were cleaning it after the tadpoles - now we don’t have one.

THANK YOU – For all of the donations that we received for the children’s ‘Show Bags’. These were a great hit and were full of many wonderful and tasty things!

TEDDY BEAR’S PICNIC – This went off wonderfully – we had a great time and it was very interesting to watch the children make their own ‘sandwich’ – especially when they were trying to butter their bread – but they all managed and everyone devoured their sandwiches – I think they were proud that they had made it themselves

Dear Parents,

Next Tuesday, 4th August is another FREE DRESS DAY – please ensure that your child comes in appropriate clothing and has their gold coin donation.

Next Tuesday, 4th August is also the Music Aviva show – please ensure that you have paid for this activity at the office.

SHOW   BAG DONATIONS – Thanks to those few parents who have already donated treats, samples, pens, bookmarks etc. for our show bags. We are still looking for more ‘stuff’ – especially non-lolly – anything will be appreciated by the children.

SPORTS DAY - The children performed spectacularly at last week’s sports day. They ran in their lanes beautifully and were so proud of their efforts. Thanks to everyone who was able to stay at watch. The children loved having you there. I am sure you were all so proud of them.

SCHOOL   PHOTOS The children all looked beautiful for yesterday’s class photo. We had all 24 children present (lots of classes have many children absent at the moment). The photos have a turn-a-round of about six weeks. Hopefully we will have them by the September holidays.

TEDDY BEAR PICNIC
Next Friday (7th August) we will be having our Teddy Bear Picnic. The children will need to bring a TEDDY to school for the day. We will have the picnic during morning tea. The children will be making their own
·       Sandwich (vegemite or honey)
·       An iced teddy biscuit
·       Fruit platter
Therefore children will only need a small snack for second break.
