The school has a large, well-stocked library managed by a Teacher-Librarian. Library skills and research activities are planned and taught in cooperation with classroom teachers. Electronic systems assist staff and students locate appropriate resources and encourage further skill development. The Resource Centre is an integral part of our schools’ learning programs.

Children are encouraged to borrow books and resources from the library on a regular basis. The library is generally open for reading, research and borrowing daily.

The Resource Centre also facillitates organisation of teaching resources. Centralised storage and borrowing of teaching resources and structured organisation of classroom reading materials, as well as collated collections for KLA areas is a feature of our school systems.

Attached to the Library is an Electronic Learning Centre (ELC) capable of whole-class use. Prep to Year 7 classes are programmed for access, with additional times for booking when classe programs would benefit from additional access. The ELC has been located adjacent to and glass-walled from the Library to allow separate lessons to occur concurrently, but still enable access to resources both on-site and electronic as students use various aspects of information and communication technology in their studies.

Both ELC and library are air-conditioned with operational use determined to promote efficient power use and ventilation, while maintaining a comfortable learning climate.
