The Active School Travel Committee is holding a number of events at the end of this term.

Ride2 School Day – Tuesday 23 June

It was great to see so many students riding to school on National Ride2School Day this term. Participating in events like this provides a perfect opportunity for Australian students and school communities to embrace a healthier start by trying riding to school.

Due to the success of this event we are holding another Ride2 School Day this term on Tuesday 23 June.  Your child can join the ride with our Active School Travel Committee members.  There will be two meeting points where your child can assemble and where the ride will begin (leaving at 8.20am) and end (at approx. 3.20pm). The two meeting points will be at the Park and Ride car park on the corner of Burrendah & Sinnnamon Road OR from the Boat Ramp Car Park, Mount Ommaney Drive.

We look forward to having as many of our students as possible join this ride to and from school.  Children who join the ride will receive an extra stamp in their Active School Travel Passport.

Remember that when riding a bike you are required by law to wear an approved helmet securely fitted and fastened.

Be Active and Walk Safely To School on Friday 19 June – Afternoon Walking Bus

It was fantastic to see over 80 children participate in Walk Safely to School Day this term.  As an Active School Travel school we encourage our students to actively travel every week.

We will once again conduct an Afternoon Walking Bus.  Active School Travel committee members (including our school adopt-a-cop Ben Harm) will once again conduct a walking bus in the afternoon that will leave from our school tuckshop area to the Boat Ramp Car Park. The walking bus will arrive at the boat ramp car park at approximately 3.20pm.

Students are required to be registered to join the afternoon walking bus to the Boat Ramp. This is so that we can ensure that we have enough adults to supervise the children while they are walking. If you would like your child to join the walking bus in the afternoon Active School Travel members, please register your child by emailing info@jindaleess.eq.edu.au

Students who participate in this walking bus will receive an extra stamp in their Active School Travel Passport.
