Last week at the P&C Meeting, representatives from Metro
South Oral Health informed parents of the likely permanent closure of the
school dental clinic situated on our site.
Currently the building has a number of issues, including an air-conditioning
fault which will cost approximately $30,000 to repair. With modern, well equipped and plentiful
services based 11km away at Inala, there has been a proposal for all dentistry
services for our students to be provided there.
An annual oral health check-up program for students will instead be held
on our site. Any concerns noted by the
oral health clinicians will be referred to the Inala clinic.
Metro South Oral Health is seeking your feedback on this
proposal and welcome correspondence from you via email. Please be mindful that the dental facility is
owned and operated by Queensland Health and not Education Queensland. The proposition to close the facility has not
come from the school, however we invite you to give feedback to Metro South Oral
Health by sending your emails to info@jindaleess.eq.edu.au
and we will forward your correspondence on.
If you would like to send an email, please do so within the fortnight.
