Our current acting Deputy Principal Louise Whittering has been appointed permanently to the position of Deputy Principal from the beginning of the 2014 school year. The Director General of Education announced the appointment following a merit selection process to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Matthew Heard.
Louise has been at Jindalee since April and had been the acting Deputy Principal at Springfield Lakes State School prior to coming to Jindalee. While at Jindalee Louise has led the school’s behaviour policy review and the Travel Safe committee as well as a substantial curriculum and teaching and learning role.
She has accreditation as an instructor in the Department of Education ‘School Wide Positive Behaviour Support’ framework and is trained in teacher coaching and development. She is also a very successful classroom teacher.
This year she has taken responsibility for the year 4-6 area of the school and the analysis of student and school data to support student learning. On Wednesday she represented Jindalee State School at a local schools’ forum with the Education Minister, Mr Langbroek.
