Jindalee SS promotes the notion that all students, particularly Year 6 students, are student leaders as their actions and responsible choices model and influence others. We aim to facilitate and embed leadership skills into everyday life at our school with the understanding that being a leader is taking responsibility for making a positive difference in our school and in other people’s lives. Leaders earn the respect of others through their actions.

Student Leaders

Ten school leaders are selected before the end of a school year via a rigorous selection process, for the following school year. All Year 5 students have the opportunity to nominate to be a Student Leader during this process, so the team is selected ready to start their Year 6 year as seniors. The purpose of the Student Council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership skills by organising and carrying out school activities and community service projects. They help communicate and share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.
