Jindalee State School has a Bring Your Own Device program (BYOD) for Years 2 - 6. The BYOD program is an initiative that allows students to bring their own personal technology device to school and use it for educational purposes under the direction of their teacher.
Our school has implemented the Bring Your Own device technical service called BYOxLink. To support this, Jindalee State School uses Education Queensland's provided mobile device management (MDM) tool, Microsoft Intune. Intune allows our school to distribute a wireless network profile and curriculum related applications to our students' BYO devices.
School staff can only access school information through Intune and cannot:
- see personal information
- monitor what happens on the device
- track or locate the device
- see information on installed personal applications (other than school applications)
- uninstall applications, including personal ones.
BYOxLink enables students and parents to install the School Wi-Fi (EQNET) and apps onto their devices from home streamlining the set-up process so students and their devices are ready for learning before coming to school. This will make student access to the school's Wi-Fi faster, safer and more efficient.
Getting Ready
Getting you child's BYO device ready for learning can be challenging. Use the links below to assist you as you navigate our BYOD program.

Purchasing Portal
This year JSS will be trying out a different BYOD Purchase Portal for our families who wish to use a Portal to purchase their child’s BYO device. This year we will be trying out Learning with Technologies (LWT).
This BYOD purchase portal provides a simple step-by-step process that allows families to purchase devices and have them delivered to your nominated address. The devices and accessories chosen meet or exceed our minimum specifications, along with the suggested accessories, extended warranty and insurance all from the one place.
It is not expected that all parents use this portal nor purchase all items; it is an option only
If you require any assistance during this process, please contact elearning@jindaleess.eq.edu.au.
Thank you for supporting your child’s learning journey at Jindalee State School.
