Classroom Music program
The classroom music program has a child-centred focus on creativity and collaborative music making, drawing strongly on the pedagogy of the 'Orff Approach' to music education. Students have access to a vast range of musical resources and instruments and learn to use these, along with their own voices and bodies to improvise, compose and perform.
Children in years Prep-2 and years 5-7 receive a half-hour class music lesson per week. Year 3 and 4 students receive extra time each week, with the program in these years extending to incorporate integrated music, dance, drama and creative language.
