All children attending Jindalee State School have one 30 minute lesson per week with the Physical Education Teacher. During this time, children participate in games and activities which improve locomotion and non-locomotion, ball skills and game skills.
Swimming is an essential element within the PE course and all children are expected to participate. The Years 1,2 and 3 'Learn to swim' classes, and the Years 4,5,6 and 7 'Swim and survive' classes are held at different times during the year. Lessons are held at the Jindalee Pool. Students travel to the pool by bus. Full details of the program will be provided by the P.E. Teacher.
Students are allocated to sports houses. Each sports house is named after an Australian Olympic champion.
Cross Country, Swimming, and Track and Field are an important components of the Sports program. Students compete at school level, with some students progressing on to regional and state competitions.
